Carlos Campo
Carlos Campo, Ph.D. began his term as the 30th president of Ashland University on June 1, 2015, and brings a wealth of experience to this role, including previously serving as president of Regent University. Ashland University, under Campo’s leadership, recently closed a targeted $50 million capital campaign that raised just over $100 million.
Campo serves as vice chair of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, where he works to improve educational outcomes for Hispanic students, serves as featured speaker at the Hispanic Education Alliance Summits, advocates for and works with national leaders in immigration reform and serves as national spokesperson for educational issues within the Hispanic community.Â
Campo was one of Crain’s Cleveland “45 Notable Latino Leaders” in 2023, and has been recognized as “Educator of the Year” and “Outstanding Educator” by local and national organizations. He was also named “Alumnus of the Year” by the UNLV College of Liberal Arts in 2016. He has chaired the educational committee for the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C. and has just been named the CEO there, with his tenure beginning in mid-June.
